      What happens if a contractor doesn't provide a W-9?

      It common for many reason to have difficulty obtaining W-9s.

      Receiving a W-9 is important for all vendors who are paid in cash, check, wire transfer, or ACH. Making payments with out receiving a W-9 could leave you liable for withholding on the payments.
